Me…a Trailblazer Award Winner 🥹. So much happened in Q2 I didn’t even have the time to let yall know! I think ima start doing these quarterly updates to keep yall in the loop
Carousel recap idea inspired by @laurenthelolife
Rest? Who needs that 🙃
NYC → SEOUL → BALI → TAIPEI → NYC (FOR 32 HRS) → MEMPHIS → CHATTANOOGA → DC → MEDELLIN
Very reaffirming quarter that I’m on the right path
One thing about me, ima spend some money lmao. At least 80% of it is on Black-owned brands 💁🏾‍♀️
Inspired to start a history podcast because both of these were so damn good
Black Latin History explainers & travel vlogs coming end of August/early Sept 🙌🏾
Motto for the year 😤

Tu Colombiana favorita 😉🇨🇴 Happy Afro-Colombian Day!!
May 21st marks the abolition of slavery in Colombia in 1851. My great-great-great-grandfather, Nicolás Hurtado, was only 6 years old in when slavery was abolished in Colombia so this history is not distant for me…
For Afro-Colombian communities, music has played such a huge role in the preservation of our stories so enjoy some of my fav moments from the past couples years documenting my culture & community 💛
Today, Colombia has one of the largest Black populations in South America, with at least 10% of people identifying as Black, AfroColombian, Raizal, or Palenquero. And many believe the true number is even higher because Black people in Colombia, like across Latin America, have long been undercounted and erased.
But we have ALWAYS been here ✊🏾

Ahhhhh I’m featured in @usatoday’s Black History Month Special Edition talking why Black history matters globally 🥹
And just to be clear: this isn’t about shifting attention away from BHM in the U.S. It’s about honoring what it sparked and how it’s impacted Black global movements
That’s why I created @blacklatinhistory: to spotlight Black communities + living traditions across Latin America and remind people that Black history is EVERYWHERE, even when it’s been intentionally erased.
Thank you @sheisimanib for including me ✊🏾🇨🇴
Photo context: from stylist @alexanderjulian’s The Land of Milk and Honey series (2021). This shoot honored Afro-Colombians in the U.S. My cousin is doing my hair. Shot by Colombian photographer Camila Falquez (who’s also photographed Bad Bunny!). Talk about ICONIC 💁🏾‍♀️. I had maybe 1500 followers at the time so crazy to see how much has changed in five years!

Always bet on yourself! I really spoke at a conference in Brazil for Black travelers from all over the world!!! What is life 😭
This feels like such a full-circle moment. Three years ago, I quietly launched @blacklatinhistory because I was tired of news organizations & grants telling me there wasn’t an audience for it. Within a month, it grew this IG from 1,800 to 16k and my TikTok from 0 to 34k 🤯. Two years ago, I took a six-week solo trip through Colombia & Brazil to research and expand what Black Latin History could be. A year ago, it won Best Travel Series. And this year, it brought me to an international stage, speaking in Brazil and pitching to BET+ execs and Emmy-winning filmmakers. Again… what is life 😭
If you’re sitting on an idea, this is your sign to launch it scared and let it grow with you. You truly never know where it’ll take you.
Incredibly honored to have been chosen by the @blacktravelsummit to speak about Ethical Storytelling in Diaspora Spaces and share the stage with some of my fav creators @lilmsawkward @chewstoexplore @ashleyncompany_ & @pretoviajante. This was my first international speaking engagement but definitely not my last 🙏🏾
And while these moments are life changing, my favorite part will always be the friendships formed, the late-night convos, and all the lil moments that never made it on camera. To everyone who came to my session, stopped me in the hallway, or shared how the work has impacted you, THANK YOU!
Thank you @anitajmoreau @marty_sandiego & the entire BTS team for always advocating for US, opening doors, and creating spaces where we can pour into each other. I truly hope y’all understand the profound impact you’ve had on so many lives 💛
If you’re a Black traveler, BTS 2026 in Milwaukee is a MUST. I’d have serious FOMO if I wasn’t there lol. See y’all next year!
A lil video dump because y’all know I always forget to take pics 😂 Probably should’ve waited for the official photos from the conference… but I think I have enough footage for a short vlog for y’all 😤

Can’t believe I’m actually 30 lmao. Can’t believe it had been seven years since the last time I went to homecoming 😭. Can’t believe I saw one of my fav artists after a six year hiatus! All of this in the same week…
On my 24th birthday, I promised myself I’d always celebrate by traveling somewhere on my bucket list. So when I realized Senegal wasn’t happening this year, I was devastated and in my feelings. Then I remembered…the rest of my year includes Brazil, Argentina, and Ghana lmao. Like I was being so dramatic 😂
Plus I’ve been incredibly blessed these past few years with work trips and spontaneous adventures that have taken me to so many dream destinations. Pushing Senegal to next year truly isn’t the end of the world.
This bday looked a lot different from what I originally imagined, but whew it was exactly what I needed. Surrounded by love, 10+ year friendships, and a good Black ass turnt TF up time. Thank God for Howard 💙❤️
